AHFES In-School Placement

A reminder that the DC Collaborative no longer provides direct funds to cover costs for in-school programs. The cost for a full-day workshop is $650 and a half-day is $500, which will be invoiced to your school at the time of booking. More funding may be provided by the member organization at a later date so please indicate your interest through the Lottery Request Form. Note: In-school Placements will be scheduled based on mutual availability and will be determined after the lottery requests are assigned.

Sharpen students engineering skills with engaging, hands-on learning! A variety of projects offered include: Galimotos: Toy trucks and cars made from recycled materials and they actually roll! Based on the children's book entitled “Galimoto” by Matatu - Toy size Mini-vans from Kenya made from recycled materials-each depicting a theme. Based on the children’s book entitled “Matatu” by Puppets - Abstract figures with moving arms and legs made from recycled materials with focus on a classroom curriculum.

School Price: $500 Half-Day (under 3 hours, 1 or 2 hours)/ $650 full day (3 hours - 6 hours 2, 3, 4 workshops)

This is a safety concern as we need to be able to reach teachers attending during the trip in the case of an emergency. The Collaborative will contact the Key Communicator AND the teacher attending to confirm registration after the lottery assignments are made. If the trip is not confirmed within 48 hours and the Key Communicator/Teacher attending do not respond to reminders, we will cancel the trip.
