The College Football Playoff Foundation’s primary philanthropic initiative, Extra Yard for Teachers, elevates the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers through the implementation of programs in four focus areas: resources, recognition, recruitment, and professional development. This program is proudly sponsored by Wegmans, with special displays featured in all regional Wegmans locations.

Through Extra Yard for Teachers initiative, the Military Bowl will provide grants to deserving public school teachers for use in their classrooms and for their students. Preference will be given to teachers who are veterans or from military families as well as to teachers who serve communities with significant military populations.

Nominations and submissions for the grants can be made through September 30, 2026. Selected teachers will be honored at the Freedom Mortgage Military Bowl on Monday, December 28, 2026, at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. As part of this celebration, Wegmans will host the teachers for a VIP experience at the Military Bowl and then partner with the Military Bowl to visit several of the winning teachers in their classrooms for special presentations.

Nominate by September 10, 2026, for a chance to be part of a special moment on the Big Day, September 19, 2026 when we’ll surprise one outstanding teacher with early recognition!
