Policy Prototyping as cultivating trust through political engagement
Date: Thursday June 11, 2020
Time: TBD
Location: Webinar information will be emailed to you after you register here.
Hosted by: University of Florida, Center for Public Interest Communications/Consortium on Trust in Media & Technology in collaboration with MIT Media Lab Center for Civic Media
Trust in both the government and tech is at historic lows, stemming from failure to mitigate harms, and enact concrete policies for protecting rights. Perhaps nowhere is this more illustrated than in the reactions toward government attempts at privacy and data governance legislation, as well as the policies of tech organizations. How can policymakers work toward cultivating trust while obtaining feedback from those impacted by legislation? This webinar examines the potential of prototyping policy for increasing political engagement and cultivating trust.
In this webinar, we'll go over findings from the report, a discussion with guest panelists and open Q&A.
