This form will take about 30-60 minutes to complete.
CAMP DATES:
Session 1 - Classic Rock Camp: Monday 6/10 - Friday 6/14, showcase Saturday 6/15.
Session 2 - Music and Activism Week: Monday 6/24 - Friday 6/28, showcase Saturday 6/29.
Session 3 - Music Video Week: Monday 7/8 - Friday 7/12, showcase Saturday 7/13.
LOCATION: Sessions 1+2 will be held at Lincoln Elementary School, in downtown Oakland (an 8 minute walk from 12th St BART). We are still confirming a site for session 3.
Food: Breakfast + lunch will be provided for volunteers every camp day. We encourage you to eat with the campers :)
Payment:
The roles we are able to offer compensation for are:
- band coaches and band managers (hourly)
- instrument instructors (hourly)
- workshop leaders (stipend)
- lunchtime performers (stipend)
Band coaches/managers and instrument instructors will be paid $16.50/hour for new volunteers and $20/hour for returning volunteers. (If you are an experienced instrument instructor we will compensate you at $20/hour). If you need a higher wage to participate at camp, we will do our absolute best to make it happen for you -- our need-based compensation prioritizes Black and Indigenous folks (including Palestinians!)
We are not able to compensate all roles at camp. Our budget is limited because we prioritize financial accessibility for campers -- no campers are ever turned away for lack of funds. Last year, 70% of our campers received some type of financial aid to attend our programs.
