Social Marketing Association of North America Board Member Nomination Form
The Social Marketing Association of North America (SMANA) is seeking new board members by way of a competitive nomination and open election process. SMANA is comprised of a 16-person Board of Directors. We currently have vacancies that need to be filled for 3-year terms beginning in 2021. You must reside in North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Central America or the Caribbean) to participate.
Serving on the board is a 3-year commitment that provides numerous benefits. Board members participate in highly respected, diverse professional networks of leaders in social marketing; have the opportunity to shape how SMANA grows as an organization; and are given opportunities to apply formal professional skills such as leadership, public speaking, and advocacy.
Board participation includes attending 6 conference calls per year, assisting the External Affairs, Fundraising, and Programs committees, and representing SMANA within your geographic area.
We are looking for social marketers with a range of experience across different change agent disciplines such as behavioral sciences, health education, conservation, and design thinking. A detailed list of board member expectations and responsibilities can be found at
