Are you looking for support to become export ready or to expand your exporting capacity?  Is your business based in Canada?  Do you identify as LGBTQ+?  If so, the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) can help.

The CGLCC is launching the pilot of the “Global Export Program”, an initiative specifically for LGBTQ+ Businesses   interested in exporting. The 4 module (4-6 week) support program is an excellent opportunity to grow your businesses export readiness, increase your network, and utilize the full benefits of your membership with CGLCC. This program is being offered free of charge as part of a launching pilot.

We are now accepting applications for March 10th start dates.  If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please review this form in full and complete all fields.  Spaces are extremely limited and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.  Please note class work begins on March 7th, although the first scheduled class is March 10th - so there is time to catch up!

Project Charter: CGLCC's Export Readiness Program
Purpose:
The purpose of the CGLCC's Export Readiness Program is to help participants grow their international business activities - Exploring Export Themes with a Queer Lens.

Outcome:
Upon completion of the CGLCC's Export Readiness Program, participants will complete a personal International Business Plan and be recognized as having completed 4 modules of export readiness externships.

Application Process:
Applicants are encouraged to apply to the program online. The CGLCC team will review applications and grant acceptance into the program on a rolling basis.

Structure & Modules:
The CGLCC's Export Readiness Program consists of four key modules:

Module 1 - Leadership & Visioning - “Visionary Leadership”
Module 2 - People Strategy - “People Development”
Module 3 - Business & Financial Planning
Module 4 - Operational Scaling - “Scalable Operations”

Each Module consists of:
Interactive Workshop (60 minutes) - designed for participants to share, reflect and ideate with their cohort in a safe space; the session includes 30 minutes of facilitated discussion and 30 minutes of peer-to-peer mentorship
Pre-Recorded Training Resource (30-60 minutes) - designed to provide participants with key insights, theories, and practices essential to the module
Asynchronous Work (60-120 minutes) - leveraging a template component, the asynchronous work is designed to guide participants as they develop their personal International Business Plan
Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Group (60 minutes) - designed for participants to discuss the module theme and components by sharing their perspectives from a queer lens

Requirements for Participation
Participant Commitment:
If selected, participants agree to:
Attend and actively participate in the interactive sessions
Engaged the pre-recorded training materials
Complete their personal International Business Plan using the provided template
Complete the program surveys and evaluations with feedback
Be willing to be identified as LGBTQ+ and publicized (some accommodations possible on request)

Applicants:
The CGLCC encourages individuals who meet the following criteria to apply to the program:
Business must operate in Canada
Business owner must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Business must operate as a supplier of products or services to other business
Business must be a for-profit enterprise
Business must be at least 51% owned and operated by self-identified LGBT+ individuals (self-identification is corroborated
        and verified)
*If you are not 51% owned and operated by self-identified LGBT+ individuals, you are still eligible for this program but you may not qualify for some future programming opportunities available via the Global Program.*

Certification with the CGLCC:
Further, the business must already be certified as an LGBT Business Enterprise with the CGLCC or be willing to complete the registration process before the end of the program. Please note, the CGLCC may be able to provide a waiver of the  $449 annual certification costs for businesses not previously certified with the CGLCC before the program start date.
