What is the GSC Ice Show?
The Georgina Skating Club is proud to present our annual Ice Show: a showcase for family and friends to see and celebrate how much their skater has progressed during the season. Our show is complete with costumes, props, professional lighting and effects – not to mention awesome skating – all of which makes for an exciting performance!
Who can participate?
To participate in this exciting event, Skaters must be enrolled with us for the Winter session. We encourage skaters from all our programs (in both our Keswick and Sutton locations) to join. We begin in early April, with each skater having approximately 3 to 4 practices prior to the production and dress rehearsals. Picture days are tentatively scheduled as follows: (1) all Learn to Skate Programs on April 6, 2020; and (2) all STARSkate programs on April 9, 2020. NOTE: Due to ice availability, there is a possibility your skater’s practices may be scheduled on a day they do not normally skate.
How much does it cost?
$40 for all Learn to Skate programs: Intro to CANSkate, CANSkate, CANHockey, Adult.
$65 for our STARSkate programs: Pre-Bronze, Bronze and Silver.
$70 for our STARSkate programs: Gold
$5 for each additional group/song outside their regular program (i.e. Star 2/3 Development, Get the Edge).

There is no additional fee if your skater is invited to skate in a solo showcase.
Ice Show fees help pay for ice time, coaching costs, technical and lighting needs, along with costumes.
We accept cash, cheques, Visa, MasterCard.
How do I register?
Either complete a hard copy registration form OR this online Skater Registration Form and submit it (along with payment) to us by the due date indicated for your skater’s program. We require one form per skater.

There is no doubt our Ice Show is an event all our skaters look forward to and it is also a memorable way to cap-off a successful skating season. If registering by hard copy form, the form and accompanying payment are to be put in the Club’s office door mail slot at the Georgina Ice Palace, or handed to our Ice Show Chairperson before the due date indicated for your skater’s program. If registering using this new online form, please submit the form and the payment method of your choice by the registration due dates.

Please note that both a registration form and payment must be received by GSC. Failure to do so will result in your skater not being registered for the show.
When is my registration due?
STARSkate programs: January 31, 2020.

All Learn to Skate programs: no later than February 16, 2020.

These due dates are required to ensure we have enough time to get ready for the Ice Show. Forms must be completed with your skater’s measurements and accompanied with your payment.
How can I help?
Volunteers are essential contributors to our show’s success! To ensure we continue producing such wonderful opportunities and memories for your skater(s), we ask you to join us as volunteer. There are many jobs we need help with prior to, during, and after the show. A volunteer sign up board will be posted a few weeks before the show but, in the meantime, there are jobs we could use some help with (i.e. sewing, cutting/accessorizing, making props, etc.) as we prepare for this event. We also have tasks which can be done from the comfort of your home. Please tell us your interest in assisting with these jobs by filling in the Volunteer section on the next page of this registration form.
I registered. Now what happens?
A detailed Ice Show Skater package will be prepared and distributed the week before practices begin.

Please note that, in an effort to accommodate all the practices required for our skaters, our Ice Show schedule is determined separately. This means there is a possibility your practices may be scheduled on a day you do not normally skate. However, we try to prepare the schedule with as little disruption as possible.

Our detailed Ice Show Skater package will contain more information for you including, among other things, a practice schedule, skater group details, photographer and videographer information, and even instructions for purchasing Happy Ads for our Ice Show program book.
I would like to advertise my business. How can I do that?
Don’t miss this opportunity to advertise with us! The Georgina Skating Club is a not-for-profit organization offering quality skating programs since 1966. By advertising your business for our Ice Show, the positive image associated continues long after your contribution is made. Our most popular method is through an advertisement in the souvenir program booklet but we also have many other options available. For more information, contact our Advertising/Sponsorship Director, Beth Banting, at .
GSC produces a souvenir booklet for the Ice Show containing groups pictures of all the skaters. Should you choose not to have your skater’s image in the Ice Show booklet, suitable arrangements can be made.

Further, GSC also has a videographer capture the show and a DVD of the performances will be available for purchase. Should you choose not to have your skater’s image used in the video, we regret that your skater will be unable to participate.
