Welcome to the registration page for the ECO (Ecology in Classrooms and Outdoors) after school program at Richmond.
This program was formerly known as the Green Schoolhouse (GSH). This summer GSH and ECO decided to merge their programs to better serve our students in an outdoor educational experience. To find out more about ECO please visit http://www.ecologyoutdoors.org/
This autumn join us in your school garden and surrounding outdoor spaces to explore the season. We'll focus our attention on the ecology of the areas through watershed mapping, looking at the microbiomes of a garden bed and a single tree, writing poetry and creating paintings that bring the season to life, and of course growing and eating some food for the fall.
The Richmond ecology club will meet every Wednesday from 2:15-4:45 PM September 5th to December 12th. (Anytime school is closed, we will not meet.) We encourage all grade levels to join us. This is a great way for kindergarten students to get to know their campus and for older students to take on a leadership role while exploring spaces they may not have known existed. We are unable to offer refunds but will do everything in our power to find someone to take your place should you need to cancel.
There will be 14 sessions and total $220.00, which is less than $16.00 per meeting. We understand that everyone's home economics are different and encourage you to be in touch to hear about scholarship availability.
If you have an questions, please email email@example.com or call Lauren at 571-277-1963.
**You may notice an increase in our costs; PPS has recently increased the price of their CUB permits and so to continue to use school buildings and pay our educators a sustainable wage we must reflect that in the cost. Of course our goal is create an inclusive space and we recognize that all home economics are unique. Please be in touch to hear about our scholarship availability.
