At a moment marked by global crises, rising inequalities, growing intolerance, and threats to academic freedom, this statement reasserts the values of a rigorous, independent, public, critical, and global sociology. In these challenging times, we believe that critical interventions by social scientists are more essential than ever, and we reaffirm the values and commitments at the core of our work as researchers, educators, and public intellectuals.
