Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) SHARES
In becoming a member of Northern Harvest Farm you are agreeing to share in the risks and rewards of growing food in the Northland. The Community Supported Agriculture model is built on trust. You as a member trust us to do our best to supply you with a bounty of fresh, wholesome, organic produce. We feel a great sense of responsibility toward our members and pledge to do everything we can to ensure this abundance. The nature of farming is unpredictable and catastrophic losses are possible. In any given year, certain crops are going to do well and others may not. There are many ways that we as farmers can help mitigate risks. These include growing multiple plantings of a diversity of crops, as well as making use of tools such as irrigation, greenhouses, and refrigeration. The most important way we can mitigate risk is by continually working to improve the condition of the land. A healthy soil produces quality crops more consistently and is much more resilient to variable weather patterns than is an impoverished soil. CSA is a great way to get connected with your food, with the land, and with your community. By sharing in the risks and rewards of farming, you are helping to provide a stable foundation for local farmers. This will allow us to continue to take care of the land and to grow healthy food for the local community for many years to come. Thank you!

PRESERVING SHARES
ALL PRESERVING SHARES WILL BE BILLED UPON DELIVERY.

Preserving Shares are NOT part of a CSA share. Each Preserving Share has an EXTRA FEE. Please sign up for what you are interested in, but DO NOT send payment in at this time. We will contact you as they become available. Preserving shares are not guaranteed. Availability depends upon an adequate harvest, which varies from season to season. You may sign up for Preserving Shares if you are not a CSA member, but CSA members will have first priority in the event that we are not able to fill all orders.

NOTE: We like to distinguish between CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Shares and Preserving shares. With the CSA Shares our members are sharing in the risks and rewards of growing food in the Northland. They are the ones that really make our farm possible. Preserving share are a way to purchase larger quantities of a given product from the farm, but do not entail the same level of trust and commitment as the CSA shares.

PARTNER SHARES
We are partnering with another farmer, as well as a local bakery to offer you some "add-ons". These are products not grown or produced by Northern Harvest Farm.
Strawberry Share (SOLD OUT FOR 2018)
Organically grown strawberries from Uff-da Organics!

From Farmer Adam: "For a period of 3-4 weeks starting in early-July, strawberries will be waiting for you alongside your CSA shares. It's our goal to deliver to you anywhere between 6-8 quarts of strawberries before the season's end. Shares are $45.00 and are available for purchase now proceeding the 2018 season. We are only taking 60 shares this season so act fast! IMPORTANT NOTE: Regretfully, we cannot make special accommodations for every other week shares as we did last season. The strawberry season is simply too short to guarantee everyone a good value in 2 week increments. Shares will be delivered every week in 2018. We're so very sorry if this means you can't participate."

Uff-da Organics is across the street from Northern Harvest Farm, and is run by Adam and Jackie Kemp, who have a very close working relationship with Northern Harvest Farm.

These shares will be available at all of Northern Harvest Farm's pick up sites. Pick up times are same as CSA shares.

Note: Strawberry shares are not available as an every other week share. You will have to go to the pickup site to get your berries each week during the 3-4 week strawberry season.
Bread/ Treat Shares
Once again we are partnering with brothers Robert and Michael Lillegard at Duluth's Best Bread, to offer Bread and Treat shares. These shares will be available at all of Northern Harvest Farm's DULUTH pick up sites. Unfortunately, they are not available at the Cloquet or Farm pick up sites (unless you pick up on Thursdays at the farm, which is an option). Pick up times are same as CSA shares.
Bread Share
Each loaf is made by hand with only four ingredients: flour, salt, water, and wild yeast. It’s cold fermented and baked with high heat and high moisture for a true crust and a soft, chewy interior. The wild yeast gives it a natural tanginess and makes this a mild sourdough. 50% of the weeks will be sourdough but the other half are a rotating mix of special loaves like challah, cranberry wild rice, whole wheat, etc. The bread shares are made with organic flour.
Weekly Bread Share (18 weeks)
Every Other Week Bread Share (9 weeks)
If you are an every other week CSA member, we will be sure to coincide your Bread Share with your CSA Share
Treats Share (non-organic)
The croissants are super flaky, tender, and loaded with butter, just like in France. They're also big--you won't be hungry. Duluth’s Best Bread makes chocolate versions stuffed with organic Meadowlands chocolate, cinnamon rolls, and other special/rare goodies too.
Treats Share (every other week, 9 weeks)
PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA) Shares: Please sign up for the CSA shares you would like, then send a deposit of at least $50 to secure your share(s). The balance is due on June 1st. Payments can be made in any amount until that time. "Additional Shareholders" may send payments directly to the farm, but please be sure to include the name of the "Primary Shareholder" in the memo line. We will send you an email confirmation and updated balance with each payment. Payment in full right from the beginning is, of course, also fine. If you are unable to pay in full by June 1st, please call or email and we will work out a payment plan with you.

PRESERVING SHARES: All Preserving shares will be billed upon delivery, please do not send payment at this time.

PARTNER SHARES: All payments for strawberry shares from Uff-da Organics and bread/treat shares from Duluth's Best Bread can be made out to Northern Harvest Farm. Total is due by June 1st. It is fine to pay for CSA shares and partner shares with the same check(s). As with the CSA shares, multiple installment payments are just fine.

Please send checks to:
