All Georgia school systems are required to report data on students on an annual basis to the Georgia Department of Education.
During its 2012 session, the Georgia General Assembly enacted several laws relating to the education of children of military families. The goal of the legislation is to maximize a student’s educational continuity despite the frequent movement across states and school districts that is often the result of a parent serving in the military.
ACTIVE MILITARY indicates whether the student has a parent or guardian who meets one of the following criteria at any point during the school year:
1. Is an active duty member of the uniformed services, including members of the National Guard and Reserve on active duty.
2. Is a member or veteran of the uniformed services who is severely injured and medically discharged or retired for a period of one year after medical discharge or retirement.
3. Is a member of the uniformed services who died on active duty or as a result of injuries sustained on active duty for a period of one year after death.
If you are a parent or legal guardian of a student that was enrolled in a Glynn County school in the current year and met one of above criteria, please complete the following survey. If you have multiple students enrolled then you will only need to complete the survey once and list one student. If you have any questions, please contact our Central Registration staff at (912) 280-4010 or email
