Outreach Team Application 2019/20
The Outreach Team is a reshaped United Nations delegation team that will be attending the Commission on Social Development (CSocD58) and the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW64) at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. It is a portfolio of the International Relations Students’ Association of McGill (IRSAM), which is a federally incorporated, non-profit organization based out of McGill University in Montréal, Canada. We are an active, fully student-run organization with United Nations ECOSOC special consultative status.
The Outreach Team has been restructured with a new objective of becoming a policy recommending body. As such, in the lead up to the Commissions, the team will be developing policies as well as researching programs around the themes of the two Commissions, and on any other topics we wish to champion. Candidates can be considered for both conferences, but will only be able to attend one.

McGill University, and by extension the International Relations Students’ Association of McGill (IRSAM,) is founded upon the unceded traditional territories of Indigenous peoples, namely the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, who are also know as the Guardians of the Eastern Door, and Anishinabeg Nations. More specifically, our campus is built on territory that has long acted as a site of meeting and exchange amongst the Kanien’kehá:ka peoples, who are the rightful stewards of these lands and waters. We are settlers here on Tiohtià:ke (Montréal), which is situated in the larger Turtle Island (North America). It is important to keep this constantly in our minds, so that we can move forward actively resisting neocolonialism in all of its forms and manifestations.
