TALE 2021 Conference Proposal
The mission of the TALE is to promote literacy that enhances the lives of all Texas citizens personally, socially and economically. Our annual conference will offer professional learning for professionals who serve:
Preschool/Early Childhood Learners
Middle Grades Learners
We encourage and invite TALE members and individuals to submit proposals for the following planned events:
Workshops: Workshops will be two hours in duration and offer hands-on, active learning experiences.
Research Posters: Research poster presentations will be one hour in duration and offer information related to a research study that was conducted. During this time, attendees will move between and among posters to talk with presenters about their study. Research posters will also be evaluated and awards will be given.
Sessions: Sessions will be one hour in duration and offer information on a specific topic.
Roundtable Presentations: Roundtable presentations will be one hour in duration with presenters and attendees seated around a table. At roundtables, each presenter will have 15 minutes of presentation, followed by 15 minutes of discussion and feedback.
General Information and Guidelines
The 2021 TALE annual conference is scheduled on February 26 & 27, 2021 at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
1. Keynote speakers, workshops, sessions, and research poster presentations will be scheduled on Friday, February 26, 2021.
2. Keynote speakers, sessions, and round-table presentations will be scheduled throughout the day on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Conference proposals must be received by Friday, August 7, 2020. No changes may be made after this date.
All presenters (including co-presenters) must register and pay conference fees by Friday, December 4, 2020.
As a professional, nonprofit organization, TALE is unable to reimburse or waive conference registration or travel expenses for presenters.
In order to be considered, conference proposals must be complete.
Presenters are welcome to submit more than one proposal. Please use a separate application for each conference proposal.
Presenters will be notified of their acceptance or non-acceptance by Friday, November 6, 2020.
Proposals will not be returned. Please keep a copy for your records.

Title of Presentation
3 – 5 keywords that describe your proposed presentation
A brief description of your proposed presentation (2-5 sentences)
For conference program: really sell your presentation to reviewers and attendees, highlight your session
Description of the proposed presentation and how the audience will be engaged
Summarize delivery methods and how these can achieve the learning objectives(500 words or less)
Literature/research that underlies the proposed presentation
Describe how your proposal is grounded in relevant, current research
Specific needs/requests for the proposed presentation
Do you have co-presenters?
