Major Taylor Ride Camp Registration: Summer 2019 Session 1 (June 24-28)
Does your child want to learn more about bikes? Are they enthusiastic about riding and improving their handling skills? Are they interested in learning how to perform basic bike maintenance? Would they like to meet other youth riders in the community and explore the Truckee Meadows via bicycle? Then Reno Bike Project's Major Taylor Ride Camp is the place for them this spring break!

Dates: June 24-28, 2019

Time: Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM-12:00 PM; Friday: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM

Drop off/pick up location: Reno Bike Project 635 E 4th St Reno, NV 89512

Requirements: Youth must be 11-18 years old, stand between 4’10 - 6’7, and know how to ride a bicycle. Participants should arrive having eaten breakfast and wearing comfortable/weather-appropriate clothing, and closed-toe shoes.

Tuition: The camp fee is $150.00 per participant; if tuition is a barrier to participation, please contact; sliding scale pricing and scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis
All equipment is included; reusable water bottle (to keep), bike, helmet, gloves (to borrow)

Schedule overview:
Monday 6/24: Safety: Basic safe riding/handling skills, bike set up, safety checks, ergonomics
Tuesday 6/25: Preparation: Ride ready, tools & their uses, and bike parts
Wednesday 6/26: Community: Group riding skills, bike maintenance & mechanics, and flat repair
Thursday 6/27: Achievement: Advanced handling, road rules, and hand signals
Friday 6/28: Fun: Long, destination bike ride, pizza party, and graduation
Each day also includes fun activities and of course, a ride (5-25 miles, depending on group fitness)!

Of course, weather is unpredictable. If the forecast is unfavorable, we'll contact you and refund your child's tuition for any days cancelled.
