Open Data Day is an annual global celebration that promotes awareness and use of open data. In 2025, it is scheduled for March 1-7, with events worldwide focusing on the theme "Open Data to Tackle the Polycrisis," addressing interconnected global challenges such as poverty, inequality, conflict, climate change, and disaster response.

In Kerala, OpenDataKerala ia a community-driven initiative dedicated to enhancing access to open data related to the state and the Malayalam language—has historically organized events like workshops and meetups to promote data literacy and collaboration.
