Petition: Save the Spray and Play Wading Pool and Outdoor Pool in Woodstock

The 75+ year old Lions pool in Woodstock. Lions pool was permanently closed in July 2023. Lions pool was supposed to be replaced by a new outdoor pool on Devonshire Ave in Woodstock at Cowan Fields. City Council voted in favour of the new outdoor pool at a City Council meeting on July 13, 2023. The new pool was supposed to open in summer 2025, but construction was halted at a City Council Meeting on March 21, 2024.
The Spray and Play Wading Pool, Woodstock's Waterpark Behind Southside Aquatic Center in Woodstock. The waterpark was opened in 2000. The summer of 2024 is scheduled to be the waterpark's last summer in operation. A changeroom expansion for Southside Aquatic Center is expected to be built in its location. There is a "replacement" splashpad being built in Finkle St which includes no water slides or wading pools or features requiring lifesaving staff.
