Invitation to the IMPULS-Lesson Study Alliance 2024 Lesson Study Immersion Program Level 2 Session
IMPULS (International Math-teacher Professionalization Using Lesson Study) in Japan and Lesson Study Alliance, a non-profit corporation in Chicago, USA, are offering intensive Lesson Study Immersion Programs in Japan in 2024.

The program offer educators a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in authentic mathematics Lesson Study in Japan. Participants will observe several mathematics lessons developed through Lesson Study in elementary and secondary schools and observe how Japanese teachers conduct their post-lesson discussions. All research lessons and post-lesson discussions will be simultaneously translated into English by experts in mathematics teaching and learning. In addition, participants will have opportunities to interact with teachers, students, and education professors from schools and universities in Japan.

The Lesson Study Immersion Program for 2024 Level 2 will be from November 12 to 21, 2024 and designed for educators with first-hand experience of Lesson Study to develop leadership capacity.

Participants must pay the tuition, 4,500 USD, which includes the cost of accommodations and local transportation during the program. Participants will be responsible for their own international airfare to Tokyo and local transportation between the airport and the hotel in Tokyo.

We can accept only a limited number of participants due to the constraints of live research lesson observation. Interested individuals should complete the following application form along with a non-refundable 50 USD application fee by July, 31 2024. If your initial application is accepted, we will invite you to submit a formal application to the program.
