Γενική περιγραφή του προγράμματος:
Our project carries the three letter “HRE” for Human Rights Education as the overall objective. In recent years all partners found more and more HRE in their youth work. It was never the core item of all these projects but it way always somehow there as a part of the projects. We discovered that the learning outcomes and the experiences of HRE were tremendous and had really positive and sustainable effects on the young participants. With this project we want to give the floor to HRE and put it right into the spotlight of our work. We as a partnership are very committed to the European dimension of our youth activities. Dealing with Active citizenship, the future of the European Union and the challenges for Europe in the 21st
century are very important for the personal development of the young people to grow as European citizens. HRE fits perfectly into this approach. It is not an either European education or HRE. It is both European and HRE as an integrated learning concept and approach to develop European citizenship and support young people by becoming active and responsible European citizens. Therefore, we will lay out a project that focusses truly on HRE while including the European dimension, the intercultural learning aspect and the empowerment and personal development of the young people. As organization we want to qualify ourselves more and more in this respect. This project is also a committed learning by doing approach for our organizations to go deeper into HRE, to gain experiences, to learn from and with each other and to develop more expertise. The young participants have initiated, will develop further and experience a highly self-directed project. By the time of this application we can already report that the kick-off of the project was started from the needs, expectations and desires of the young people (more on this below). This way we will never come into the conflict of designing an artificial project that does not take into considerations the core item of the project: the development and empowerment of the participants. The project focuses on various aspects of HRE to bring awareness, get knowledge, train ones’ own behavior and reassess ones’ own attitude towards human rights. Thus, the project will work on different levels to achieve a coherent learning experience. The crucial part for us will be the connection to the European dimension. All the activities and learning experiences from the HRE part will be additionally connected to the fact of being a European citizen and living in an integrated European Union. The combination of these two issues will bring the European dimension into the catchable world of the young people. Far from complex European institutions and complicated political procedures Europe will become experienceable. The European idea will get access into the daily life of the young people and they will discover the European idea as a mind-set. This includes the engagement with solidarity, equality, social inclusion, freedom of speech, human dignity, participation, freedom of religion. These two levels will be enriched with the concept of intercultural learning as the project will be implemented in a multinational framework with young people from 8 different European countries. The internationality fits perfectly into the core concepts and supports the learning goals intensively. The European dimension and the HRE will be connected to the national characteristics as well as to the European similarities. Individual and national traditions, norms and habits will enter into the reflection process which brings the whole project to personal learning level that effects the participants emotionally. Learning will get a very strong impact for the young people.
