Part-Time Code Coach
Code for Life is a faith driven partnership consisting of churches, colleges, community- based organizations, and the tech community that seeks to equip young people with the skills they will need to thrive in our digitally driven economy by providing training in web, mobile, and hardware development.

Code for Life provides training in Web Basics (HTML & CSS) and Coding & Agile Methods (JavaScript, Python, Git, Github) through the Creator & Maker Cross Training.

Code for Life is looking for tech skilled people who want to make a difference in the lives of our young people in our city. Become a Code Coach this summer at our East Harlem site and help catalyze futures!

Opportunity to Make a Difference:

Make a difference in the life of a young person & equip with them with the skills they need to thrive in life! Intern as a Code Coach with Code for Life in East Harlem over the summer! You will help transform the way young people view themselves & their future. This may also lead to longer term opportunities to be a part of the Code for Life team!

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Code Coach will assist the Instructor with mentoring approximately 15 young people ages 14-16 in our Web Basics course. This summer course will begin on July 8th and run seven weeks on Monday-Thursday for four hours each day ending by August 23rd. Training will be augmented by site visits and other field trips. Each intern will go through a week-long training in the Code for Life methodology. Each intern will oversee the work of five students who will form a team and develop an app.

Code for Life will be pay each intern on an hourly basis every two weeks.


Understands church culture & ministry mindset
Proficient with HTML, CSS, Java Script, Python, Git/Github
Ability to connect with young people.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Each applicant will fill out an information summary, submit a resume, show that they are technologically proficient, and interview with the Code for Life team.

Background Check will be required by both Nyack College & individual sites before starting.
