Award categories include:
Individual: Acknowledges individuals in the following groups who provide significant operational or administrative support to a nonprofit agency, faith-based ministry or community organization:
• Youth (5-18)
• Adult (19-59)
• Senior (60+)
Civic Volunteer Group: Honors volunteer teams in the following groups that unite in support of a specific issue or cause:
• Faith-based: Honors a volunteer group for their volunteer efforts working in support of a faith-based organization such as a temple, church, mosque or synagogue.
• Military: Honors an active duty military group or squadron that has created impact for an organization through their service efforts.
• Family: Honors a family group of individuals (more than two individuals) for their service contributions to an organization.• Youth: Honors a youth group (such as a Girl or Boy Scouts troop) for their service contributions to an organization.
• Community: Honors a community group (such as a fraternal service organization, civic league, alumni group, etc.) for their service contributions to an organization. The benefitting organization must a be a 501c3 or faith-based organization.
•Nonprofit Volunteer Program: Recognizes a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization for developing and operating an excellent volunteer program based on volunteer engagement best practices.
•Skills-Based Volunteer: Recognizes individuals who donate their professional skills or expertise to a nonprofit agency, faith-based or community organization in a way that has helped to increase that organization’s capacity to meet their mission
•Employee Volunteer of the Year: Recognizes employee volunteers who have developed an outstanding record of community service leading or participating in company-sponsored community service or via personal community service efforts.
•Best of Board: Recognizes a board member who has demonstrated outstanding service and has furthered a nonprofit’s ability to meet their mission through the giving of their time, talent and resources.
