Traffic Citation Appeal
Appeals of fines will be heard by the Traffic Appeals Committee, composed of faculty, staff, police, and students. The committee meets once a month to review appeals. Once an appeal has been reviewed an email will be sent with the committee's decision. Appeal decisions are final.

To better understand the appeal process and if it is applicable in your situation, below are some examples of both unsuccessful and successful appeals.

FREQUENT UNSUCCESSFUL APPEALS
This is your first ticket.
You didn't mean to park illegally.
You cannot afford the ticket.
You were not the one driving/parking the car.
You could not find a legal parking space nearby.
You didn't know what the rules were.
Someone told you that you could park there, but you didn't check to see whether that was true.
Everyone else parks there.

FREQUENT SUCCESSFUL APPEALS
My car battery was dead for 24 hours. I immediately called the police to tell them. As soon as possible, I replaced/charged the battery but I still received a ticket.
I moved residence halls yesterday and I have registered for the new sticker but have not received it yet.
