About
WiSTEE (Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Entrepreneurship, www.wisteeconnect.org) Global Women of Light Symposia shine light upon women's careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and entrepreneurship. These symposia typically attract nearly 100 individuals from 20+ countries and 80+ institutions. The attendees represent various career paths, such as faculty members, students, scientists, engineers, researchers, program managers, entrepreneurs, and business executives.

WiSTEE Connect is hosting its the 4th international symposium “Global Women of Light” at the 2019 Frontiers in Optics conference on 15 September 2019 in collaboration with the OSA Foundation. The program will be hosted at the OSA Headquarters at 2010 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC USA from 9:00-16:00.

Our goal is to continue building a strong network among women across academia, industry and government, and cooperatively establish strategies to advance women’s leadership across career ranks. Panel and round-table discussions on "Career Strategies and Intersecting Science and Entrepreneurship" will be hosted at this event. Women leaders will present strategies and best practice on promoting emerging women leadership in their respective sectors. A networking session will close out the day’s program and provide an opportunity for informal discussion. A community of women across career ranks and disciplines in STEM and Entrepreneurship will continue to be built, from which career growth, mobility, mentorship, and leadership can be collectively developed.

Note that you do not have to register for the conference and the registration for the symposium is free. Men, women, students, and professionals alike are invited to attend! Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
