Vancouver DataJam is a community-focused hackathon that empowers women, gender minorities, racial minorities, and other underrepresented groups in data science. This year we are collaborating with Datacan (Women in Data Science). The hackathon will be held on October 25-27, location TBA. More details can be found on our website, Vancouver DataJam. We eagerly look forward to discussing more about our event. Our hackathon is an all-in-one 3 part event, consisting of 4+ independently organized workshops, a weekend of hacking as the main event, and an evening unconference/networking event with an all-star panel that is composed of both industry professionals and academics.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Team Leads will be working with participants, leading up to the hackathon and will help manage the project and team members, curate questions and build a problem definition for the hackathon, find datasets, and help their team to reach the finish line. The Datajam team will be available to provide support or an additional body if needed at any given point.
Mentors will be working with teams during the hackathon to help with technical and non-technical challenges and provide support to Team Leads and Participants as needed. Mentors must be available for orientation before the event.
Please check this document for roles and responsibilities for Team Lead or Mentor.
