NYEC's tradition is to heavily emphasize discussion and peer learning, which is what we will be doing on Tuesday, December 4th. In discussion and real-time problem solving sessions, practitioners will facilitate conversations about pressing issues in the youth-employment field. Past sessions have included "Expanding Access for Justice-Involved Youth: Challenges and Opportunities," "Youth Development in Employer-Driven/Sector-Based Strategies," and "Embedding Financial Empowerment in Youth Employment Programs," among others.
NYEC sessions are either discussion sessions, in which one or two attendees lead a discussion on a pressing issue facing the field, or real-time problem solving sessions (similar to case conferences), in which a facilitator moderates and another attendee presents a challenges they are facing in their practice. NYEC's Membership Committee has identified several categories of topics for sessions, but you may also propose sessions outside these areas.
If you would like to become a presenter please fill out this form by October 31st. We will respond by November 9th to session leaders whose proposals are accepted. If you have materials or handouts to share with participants ahead of your session, please send them to Rashaun.firstname.lastname@example.org by November 16th.
If you have any questions please email Rashaun.email@example.com.
See you in December!
