Expedition 361: South African Climates Live Video Broadcast Request Form

Come join us this winter on board the JOIDES Resolution 30 January - 31 March, 2016 as we seek to better understand the relationship between the Agulhas Current -- the strongest western boundary current in the Southern Hemisphere -- and the development of climate in southern Africa during the Pliocene/Pleistocene periods. Our education program will focus on this exploration, the very nature and process of science, and careers.

Since March 2009, live ship-to-shore conferences from the JOIDES Resolution (the JR, the nation's scientific ocean drilling ship) have inspired thousands of students, teachers, and museum visitors. Our live video events lift science out of the textbooks and allow students to learn about cutting edge research and careers by talking directly to scientists, technicians, and crew as they live and work aboard the vessel.

Requests for interactive, 30-45-minute Zoom interactions are handled on a first come, first served basis. To participate successfully in one of our events, you need:
- a computer with "Zoom" a free, quick downloadable program
- a good internet connection
-a video projector
-a good webcam, with microphone (or separated microphone)
-speakers, if your room/group is large
