HSP is a special program where students are encouraged through a variety of opportunities to learn about future careers, visit colleges, and receive information on many extra opportunities.  The Hispanic STEAM Program will meet every Tuesdays from 3pm - 4:15pm. The program will start October 6, 2020, and run through to June 1, 2021. To get the most out of your time in HSP it is important that you and your parent or guardian understand the responsibilities of each HSP member.  When each HSP member holds themselves to these expectations, all will benefit from a smoother program and much more personal success.  Please read the criteria for HSP membership and talk about it with your parent, so that both of you truly understand what it takes to have great success in the HSP program.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Alicia Vazquez at avazquez@scusd.net. HSP es un programa donde se alienta a los estudiantes a través de una variedad de oportunidades para aprender sobre futuras profesiones, visitar universidades y recibir información sobre otras oportunidades adicionales. El programa tendrá lugar online todos los martes después de las 3pm a 4:15pm. El programa comenzará el 6 de octubre de 2020 y durará hasta el 1 de junio de 2021. Para aprovechar al máximo tu tiempo en HSP, es importante que tu y tus padres o tutores entiendan las responsabilidades de cada participante de HSP. Cuando cada participante de HSP cumpla con estas expectativas, todos se beneficiarán de un programa más fluido y habra más éxito personal. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
HSP members must have 100% attendance at the weekly meetings.  A member can be excused with 1-day notice to the HSP teacher.
HSP members must attend at least 2 special HSP events within the school year.  This is in addition to the weekly meetings.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
HSP members will assist in community service activities.
HSP members will treat other members, teachers, and guests to the program with respect.
I have read and I agree with these requirements in order to remain in good standing as a member of the HSP program.  I understand that if I, the member, do not meet these requirements, the advisors and the district coordinator will speak with me and I will be put on probation status for one quarter.  If my attendance does not improve and we cannot work out a plan for me to be successful with the requirements, I will no longer be an HSP member.

REQUERIMIENTOS DE ASISTENCIA
Los participantes de HSP deben tener un 100% de asistencia a las reuniones semanales. Un participante puede ser disculpado con 1 día de aviso al maestro de la clase de HSP.
Los participantes de HSP deben asistir al menos a 2 eventos especiales de HSP dentro del año escolar. Esto se suma a las reuniones semanales.

REQUERIMIENTOS GENERALES
Los participantes de HSP ayudarán en actividades de servicio comunitario.
Los participantes de HSP tratarán a otros participantes, maestros e invitados al programa con respeto.

He leído y estoy de acuerdo con estos requisitos para mantenerme al día como participante del programa HSP. Entiendo que si yo, el participante, no cumplo con estos requisitos, los maestros y el coordinador del distrito hablarán conmigo y me pondrán en un período de prueba por un trimestre. Si mi asistencia no mejora y no podemos elaborar un plan para que tenga éxito con los requisitos, ya no podré formar parte de HSP.
