Sufra NW London Volunteer Application Form
Sufra NW London has been designated to lead the borough's food aid response to COVID-19 on behalf of the Brent Food Aid Network and we need to scale up quickly to reach many more people across Brent.

We are looking for a number of volunteers to help us deliver a range of essential services in response to the COVID-19 crisis, and also to continue our services as we transition into the next phase. All volunteering opportunities are listed in the sign up form below. Please select any/ all that you are interested in.

These are all now vital roles in which you would be working with a great team of dedicated staff and volunteers – and you be making a huge difference to a large number of people across the borough. Existing DBS preferable but can be arranged.

Food Parcel Packers
Help us pack the essential food items at our premises in St Raphael’s Estate and help us host our collection service at the Food Bank on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Committing to just one shift a week for the next three months will help us stay on top of the increasing demand and give you the opportunity to give back to the community. Shifts: Mon-Fri, 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm.

Food Delivery Drivers
Must have car & valid license. Do you have an hour or two to spare, once a week? Do you have a DBS check? We are urgently in need of drivers to deliver our hot meal provisions to the most vulnerable guests around Brent. Shifts: Mon – Fri, 3:30pm – 5.30

Community Kitchen Volunteers
Assist our chef cook up to 200 meals a day, in time for delivery to those who are unable to cook for themselves. Learn what it’s like in a busy kitchen and get stuck in making a difference. Shifts: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am – 2.30pm.

Admin - Telephone volunteers, data entry volunteers and information volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who can commit 1 morning or afternoon per week, to become telephone volunteers. Triaging phone calls from guests, donors, volunteers and the general public, you will be the first friendly voice anyone will hear when they get in touch. Shifts: flexible & remote.

Advice - Signposters
We are recruiting volunteers to remotely signpost our Food Bank guests. After training on using our directory, having sensitive conversations and recording information, you could support our Food Bank guests accessing help from other vital services. Shifts: flexible & remote.

Community Garden Volunteers
We are always in need of volunteers to help us look after and develop our Community Garden, in order to support our Food Bank with freshly grown organic produce. Tasks vary from a range of food growing, garden maintenance and DIY tasks such as building and painting raised beds, weeding, composting, pruning, watering and harvesting produce. If you have a few hours to spare a week and would like to spend some time with nature, apply now! Shifts: Mondays and Thursdays 10am to 2pm.

Arabic Speaking Volunteers
Do you speak Arabic? We are often in need of interpreters and translators to carry out various ad hoc tasks.
