WWW 2020 is hosted by Stephanie Zaletel and held at (beloved) Pieter Performance Space in East Los Angeles. This 3 day wintertime workshop will consist of movement classes led by core szalt members Lindsey Lollie, Jordan Saenz, and Stephanie Zaletel, as well as new research known as "gentle dances", solo creation sessions, guided evening meditations, and an electronic sound bath in collaboration with resident composers, Louis Lopez and Jonathan Snipes.
WWW 2020 is geared towards all kinds of movers from all dance and non-dance backgrounds. The curriculum fuels participants who are eager to practice deep self care, bodily listening, movement research through experimental and empathetic choreography methods, meditation, and softening. We believe in the mingling of professionals, students, artists, dancers of all backgrounds and in all phases of life. If you want to be in the space, please let us know.
We will dance softly in darkness often, we will free-write, we recommend wearing comfortable layers, bringing healthy snacks, a journal, and plenty of water.
As always, participants in either session can be considered for future projects with Stephanie Zaletel as she seeks skilled, brave, kind, and curious movement artists to collaborate with on a rolling basis.
Due to the intimate nature of this workshop, we can only accommodate up to 3 single day participants each day who must submit an application in advance. Drop-ins will not be accommodated.
