The Small Concert Initiative is a program designed and run by the Activities Board to allow students and student organizations to access funding to bring small concerts of their choosing to Middlebury College. Each proposal can request up to $2,500 from this fund. Final allocation amounts will be dependent upon the expected attendance and venue size. PLEASE NOTE that a maximum of $2,500 will be allocated per event (this includes facilities fees, marketing, and all artist performance fees).
Please read and fill out this application carefully, then follow instructions to submit it to the MCAB Concerts Committee.
There will be three rounds of concerts applications designated for the Fall, Winter, and Spring.

**PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL REGARDING APPROVAL STATUS WITHIN A FEW DAYS AFTER THE APPLICATION DEADLINE. If you are requesting a concert on a date relatively close to the application deadline (e.g. October 21st or March 20th), make sure the artist knows how quick the turnaround time will be.

DO NOT EVER ALLUDE TO OR COMMIT TO GIVING A BAND ANY CONCRETE OR OFFICIAL MONETARY OFFER UNTIL THE CONCERTS COMMITTEE HAS EXPLICITLY TOLD YOU OTHERWISE. VERBAL CONTRACTS ARE LEGALLY BINDING IN THE STATE OF VERMONT, AND YOU CAN/WILL GET PERSONALLY SUED IF YOU DEFAULT ON ONE.

MCAB Concerts' Marketing Specialist, Shermeen, is here to help you through this process. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions regarding advertising. Upon approval of your concert, MCAB's SCI logo will be attached in the email, which you are expected to use on all promo material. You are also required to email Shermeen all of the designs you wish to promote for final approval, where she will promote your concert on the SCI Facebook Page.
After Shermeen approves your designs, head on over to go/repro to order your posters to be printed. A week buffer time is required for printing and you are required to pick up the posters and post them around campus yourselves.
For budgeting, 11X17 inch posters are $1.00/each; 8.5X11 inch posters are $0.50/each through Middlebury's Reprographics.
