The George Pocock Rowing Foundation, a non-profit, provides comprehensive scholarship support so more youth can row on the water as part of a team. Scholarship funds are awarded based on need AND the participant's ability to meet attendance and participation expectations.
Scholarship support is available for participation at the following boathouses. Programs marked with an asterisk (*) partially or fully fund their own scholarships in partnership with GPRF:
- Commencement Bay Rowing Club*
- Eugene Rowing Club*
- Everett Rowing Association*
- Inglemoor Rowing Club*
- Lake Oswego Community Rowing*
- North Cascades Crew*
- Olympia Area Rowing Association*
- Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association*
- Pocock Youth Rowing*
- Renton Rowing Center
- Tacoma Rowing*
- Vashon Island Rowing Club*
Occasionally the GPRF will provide scholarship support to youth rowers participating in other NW boathouses (case by case basis and as funding permits). Partial and full scholarships are available.
Please note: each boathouse may have a different deadline for scholarship applications! Here are the spring 2026 deadlines for boathouses that have them:
- Olympia Area Rowing Association: 1/19/26
- Renton Rowing Center: 1/19/26
- Vashon Island Rowing Club: 2/6/26
If you are a member of one of these boathouses, we will get back to you after the deadline! If your boathouse has a rolling deadline, we will get back to you as soon as we can.
If awarded a scholarship, participants must:
- Attend 75% of practices
