How it works?
Each student organization will oversee one (or more) volunteer projects within the Starkville Community on or after MLK Day (January 21, 2013). The Maroon Volunteer Center can assist student organizations by helping them find a local agency to partner with, helping with media coverage, and sharing information. Student Organizations are encouraged to send community service project information to the Maroon Volunteer Center.
What the student organization will win?
A large trophy for their organization, publicity, and bragging rights! The Maroon Volunteer Center hopes to make this an annual event and include a special recognition for the winning organization at the volunteer awards banquet in April.
Developing your community service project will include the following steps:
Meeting with members and advisers to discuss community issues and potential community agencies to work with to develop your project.
-Planning and Preparation
Members of your organization will meet to discuss the activities of the project and necessary materials required to make the project successful.
The actual project being completed on or after MLK Day as part of "Semester of Service."
This phase will include the evaluation of the project and submitting necessary information on volunteer hours, food donated, funds raised, and other potential benefits to the community.
Submit your community service project to the MVC by completing the form below.
