The New 8 program seeks to promote equity and recognizes the importance of cultural diversity in the arts sector. If you come from an equity-seeking group please feel free to indicate this on your application. An equity seeking group is a group that faces significant collective challenges in participating in society due to attitudinal, historic, social and environmental barriers based on age, ethnicity, disability, economic status, gender, nationality, race, sexual orientation and transgender status, etc

The New 8 program is designed for first time or beginner filmmakers. If you have made a film already but still consider yourself a beginner please explain your situation in the "Other" category.

A carefully chosen title can be helpful in setting the tone of your film.
One sentence description of your film:
Tell the story of your film, or describe its central theme in a clear and concise manner.
Tell us about yourself (maximum 250 words):
Use this space to explain what skills and interests you’ll bring to the New 8 Program. Include any previous arts and community related activities you have participated in.
Longer description of your idea (maximum 250 words):
Include a description of the film you have in mind. You can discuss things such as basic story, characters, genre, visual style etc.
Support Material (as 1 pdf document only):
If you’d like to you can include storyboards, pictures or any other visual materials that will help to explain your idea. However, you are NOT required to do so.
