Who: Open to Cabot residents, including children in grades 2-12 and adults of all ages. Children in elementary school should participate with an adult.
What: Learn how to do various paper arts and craft projects in this series of classes, with each weekly session focusing on a different technique. Possibilities include origami, 3D cardboard sculpture, pop up cards, silhouette art, hand sewing on paper, paper mache masks, wet-on-wet painting to create lanterns, and more.
Instructor Sarah Spletzer has studied fine arts and worked as a teaching artist and museum guide for school groups in the Netherlands and Germany, in addition to facilitating several arts-focused clubs for Cabot's afterschool program.
When: Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 9 and continuing through Feb. 20.
Where: Cabot School art room (in the building across from the cafeteria/gym).
Why: To bring together community members of all ages in a school space for arts enrichment.
How: This free program is funded through pandemic-relief grant money.
