For 2026, the official camp will be held Fri Feb 13 to Thu Feb 19. Start and end times on those days, as well as likely pre- and post-camp dancing the days before and after, are all TBD at this time. Stay tuned...

We currently have 28 rooms reserved (and are hoping to again book the entire 30-room Hotel Las Arenas Puerto Morelos) for 10 nights (Wed Feb 11 check in to Sat Feb 21 check out). We will also do our best to reserve rooms for additional nights before and after, based on the best guess dates you supply in this form.

The deadline for the initial room selection process has passed and room assignments are being finalized. To join the waitlist, each camp participant please complete and submit this form, but hold off on sending your non-refundable $100 USD (or 2000 MXN) deposit until you hear from us. (We'll let you know whether you have a room or are on the waitlist as soon as we know. Thanks for your patience!)

Your per-person deposit is non-refundable whether you cancel of your own accord or in the unlikely event of us losing the nearly $4000 hotel deposit due to circumstances beyond our control (eg, hurricane, change of hotel ownership, etc).

If you aren't open to sending the deposit or you can only attend camp for part of the time, select the appropriate waitlist options on the form to be in the running for rooms still available closer to camp time.

Important waitlist note: We highly recommend booking a cancellable reservation elsewhere -- so you can cancel if something opens up at the hotel last minute -- and do so soon, as prices tend to skyrocket close to retreat time. The group block price per room (for stays of up to 10 nights between Wed Feb 11 check in and to Sat Feb 21 check out):

Consider staying longer to explore cenotes, ruins, the reef, and more... Room prices for each additional night before Wed Feb 11 and/or Sat Feb 21 and after:

Pay the $100 USD (or 2000 MXN) per-person deposit now and the balance anytime before Jan 15, 2026, but note, if the exchange rate drops below 18 pesos/usd before you send the balance, your price will be higher:
  • The actual dollar (USD or CDN) price you pay would be determined using the exchange rate at the time you pay.
  • Dollars collected would be converted to pesos at the time collected.
Why no short-stay pricing?
In 2025, in addition to the group block price, we offered higher per night rates for shorter stays. This approach gave you maximum flexibility, but proved to create a lot of extra work, stress, and financial risk for our lodging coordinator. In the end, only one camp participant opted for a short stay, so this year we're offering just the group block price, like most residence camps do. (But note... if you stay for fewer nights than the group block and someone else stays in your room on the nights you aren't there, you'll have the option to receive a refund for those nights.)

Looking at the bookings from last year, having no short-stay pricing would have impacted only one camp participant. So eliminating short-stay pricing seems warranted. If however, you have concerns about this change, please briefly voice your thoughts here. Thanks!

Fairness *
More people want certain rooms and room types than are available. For example, by March we already had twice as many requests for beachside rooms as the number of rooms available. If two or more people want the same room, which of these criteria do you feel are the fairest ways to decide?
  1. People willing to room with another dancer (helps increase attendance)
  2. People who have never been to PM camp before
  3. People who have never stayed at the hotel before
  4. People with mobility issues and related disabilities
  5. People with limited income
  6. Number of total years attending
  7. Number of consecutive years attending
  8. Number of consecutive years in the same room (squatter's rights)
  9. First to pay the deposit
  10. First to pay in full
  11. Set up a year-to-year rotation system
  12. Use a lottery system to choose rooms by random draw
  13. Make the difference between the highest and lowest room prices even greater

Please don't panic! For those people who sent their $100 non-refundable deposit by May 28, 2025, we will do all we can to accommodate everyone's preferences as best as possible. After May 28, room requests will be prioritized in the order they are received.
Solo Rooms *
For now, solo rooms may be requested but are not guaranteed. If something like the 2025 Covid situation occurs again or if we fill the hotel and others wish to lodge on site, you might need to have a roommate. If you request and pay for a solo room then end up having a roommate, you will receive a refund of the price difference.

Please give your best guess for your dates. We suggest you guess the maximum likely length of your stay (because it's easier to shorten your reservation than lengthen it). Once you book your travel, we can shorten your stay without penalty, as long as there is at least a few weeks lead time.

Thoughts on length of stay:
  • More than 10 nights gives you time to do all the dancing plus explore Quintana Roo.
  • 10 nights gives you time to settle in before the official camp starts, stay a full day after camp officially ends, and have the opportunity to join in any unofficial dances both the day before and the day after camp.
  • 9 nights gives you time to either settle in before the official camp starts or relax the day after (but not both), and have the opportunity to join in the unofficial dances either before or after camp (but not both).
  • 8 or fewer nights means you'd be checking in and/or checking out on a day we dance.
Note: If you stay for fewer nights than the group block and someone else stays in your room on the nights you aren't there, you'll have the option to receive a refund for those nights.

Cancellation Policy

Full refund (minus the $100 non-refundable deposit) with sufficiently-creative excuse, provided there are people on the waitlist and your room gets filled. Cancellation close to retreat time may result in partial or no refund.
