Bird Banding Club 2019 - WAITLIST
Fill out this Google Form to place your child on the waitlist for Thorne's 2019 Bird Banding Club. As of December 18, 2018, all 12 spots in Club are full. We do sometimes have people change their minds, so feel free to join the waitlist!

Join Federally-licensed bird bander, Dr. Oakleigh Thorne, II and Gwen Tenney, Thorne’s Programs Coordinator, to experience the art and science of bird banding. Participants will work collaboratively with one another, gaining skills and hands-on experience in field identification and bird banding methods. Together, participants will practice to become expert bird banders using a combination of mist nets and solenoid traps to catch resident and migratory birds. Participants will learn to handle, properly identify, band, and record scientific information to be sent to the Federal Bird Banding Laboratory.
Youth in Grades 7 and higher (Exceptions are sometimes made depending on spots remaining.)
Eight Tuesdays from February to May from 4:00-5:30pm:

Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center, 1466 N. 63rd Street, Boulder, CO
$125 for all sessions (Scholarships are available. Please email for details, if needed.)
Previous participation in the Birds and Bird Banding Summer Camp Experience or Club is required because Club is designed as a way for new banders to get more experience, not to teach new students how to band. Participation in the Biking and Birding Camp Experience does not meet this requirement. (Exceptions may be considered on a case by case basis if Club does not fill with fully qualified participants.)
Registration Process
Club registration is first come, first served with preference for returning Club members. The club will fill fast with a maximum of 12 students. Email with questions.

Don’t miss your chance to involve your student or child in this unique and inspiring club!
