Montclair High School Alumni Association Scholarships: Staff
The Alumni Association needs your help in selecting scholarship candidates. Please take a few minutes to nominate MHS seniors on the attached scholarship nomination forms. All staff members are encouraged to submit nominations.
Our selection process begins with student and staff nominations. Those nominations are passed on to a MHS staff member panel for review. The list of nominees is narrowed down to approximately ten people (per scholarship) who are then interviewed by our committee.
Please note the following:
Our scholarships are merit based. We do not consider financial need.
The John J. McMullen Award is a $48,000.00 award. Please give your selection serious consideration. This student must be in the top 10% of their class. This student must be a leader who was actively involved in the school. Special attention will be paid to those students attending a service academy.
The Gary W. Schultz Award must go to a top student who has been active in the school, as well as the community.
The Joe Walsh and McClellan Awards can go to any student with a talent for music/entertainment-not necessarily a student whose accomplishments have taken place solely at the high school.
The Fortunato Family Award is scholar/athlete award.
The Hollander Award must go to a student who plans on studying science or medicine in college with plans on pursuing a career in healthcare.
