2022 Recycle-Palooza Volunteer Sign-Up

We're cleaning up Eaton County by collecting hazardous waste, electronics, and other hard-to-recycle items! There are only two restrictions for volunteers: volunteers must be at least 16 years old and must have a current volunteer application form on file (can be filled out the day of the event).

Some of the benefits of volunteering for collection events include:
- Helping to reduce the amount of hazardous and/or recyclable waste sent to landfills and combustion facilities.
- Free refreshments (coffee, doughnuts, & fresh fruit in the morning and pizza/sandwiches, chips, soda pop, & more in the afternoon)
- Free disposal of ALL items accepted at the events regardless of residency.

Break Room Attendant: Keep the break area clean & disinfected as needed, the food stocked, and the drinks cold. Serving on-site volunteers/vendors food & beverages while wearing appropriate safety gear. Also in charge of assisting volunteers with check-in (including health screening & application forms) and making sure they have the proper safety wear.

Cardboard Breakdown: Breakdown cardboard collected at the event and place it in appropriate recycling receptacle.

Cardboard Collector: Visit stations collecting cardboard and transport to the cardboard breakdown area.

Electronics Recycle: Assist staff with unloading electronics from vehicles and placing them on pallets/boxes to be shrink wrapped. REQUIRES LIFTING & CARRYING.

Traffic Control: Guide participant vehicles to the correct stations and through the event line. Sometimes hand out flyers or other information to event participants.

Registration: Check participant registration (name, time slot, etc.) while ensuring the even flow of incoming traffic following the registration times. Share safety protocols and reminders with participants.
