We are thrilled to announce auditions are now open for Barkly Theatre’s debut production of Picnic at Hanging Rock, playing in the Guild Theatre April 25-27, 2024.

SYNOPSIS

Victoria. 1900. On a Saint Valentine’s Day picnic to Hanging Rock, four schoolgirls and their governess vanish mysteriously. Joan Lindsay’s novel explores the aftermath of their disappearance, and the impact on their rural community – lost in the twisted mystery of the Australian Gothic. The global success of Tom Wright’s 2016 stage adaptation advances a contemporary relevancy of this unyielding myth.
