Cost for attending a training school is $10/coach. Each coach will receive a sports skills guide and other Special Olympics coaching information, and lunch is usually provided. The local coordinator can either have their account debited or mail a check to the following address: SONC, 2200 Gateway Centre Blvd, Suite 201, Morrisville, NC 27560.
Anyone signing up independently must mail a check to the address above. Checks and check authorizations are non-refundable after the registration deadline.
Equestrian got an early start and while the SONC Equestrian Tournament will be September 29 - October 1, training schools started in May and the last equestrian training school will be held on August 5, 2017.
Other sport training schools will now feature multiple courses in one day, and coaches may register for both a morning session and afternoon session in order to receive two certifications and/or recertification in a sport.
Sports and courses offered during the morning session: Coaching Special Olympic Athletes, Basketball, Basketball Skills, Bocce, Golf, Roller Skating, Soccer, Soccer Individual Skills, Tennis, and Tennis Individual Skills.
Sports and courses offered during the afternoon session: Coaching Special Olympic Athletes, Athletics, Bowling, Cheerleading, Cycling, Swimming, and Volleyball.
Please note that all courses are subject to enrollment and availability. If less than five people register for the class, it may be rescheduled.
