Cost for attending a training school is $10/coach. Each coach will receive a sports skills guide and other Special Olympics coaching information, and lunch is usually provided. The local coordinator can either have their account debited or mail a check to the following address: SONC, 2200 Gateway Centre Blvd, Suite 201, Morrisville, NC 27560.
For Equestrian Training Schools: Those seeking a certification as a coach/instructor will be required to complete a riding test and also coach a fellow participant through a trails course. Those seeking a certification as a leader or sidewalker are not required to ride, but will be required to demonstrate those skills.
We are now offering in and out of season sports at our training schools. In season sports (Fall Tournament sports) will be held during the morning session. Out of season sports (Summer Games sports) will be held during the afternoon session. Please note you can only sign up for one sport in each of the sessions.
Anyone signing up independently must mail a check to the address above. Checks and check authorizations are non-refundable after the registration deadline.
Please note that all courses are subject to enrollment and availability. If less than five people register for the class, it may be rescheduled. Information for all sports, including coaching guides, rules, and other helpful resources, are located on the individual sport web page found at http://sonc.net/sports-competitions/sports-competitions-overview/#1440794134423-60901c1c-d699.
