Sponsored by the Caucus of Working Educators Racial Justice Committee and Teacher Action Group.
From January 23 through January 27, we are encouraging educators, students, parents, and community members to draw their attention to the guiding principles of Black Lives Matter through classroom, school, and community events and activities.
We have organized the 13 guiding principles into 5 daily themes, used to guide our exploration and discussion on that particular day:
- January 23: Restorative Justice and Empathy and Loving Engagement (Kick-Off, Wear your Black Lives Matter shirts, pins, and stickers!)
- January 24: Diversity and Globalism
- January 25: Transgender affirming and Queer Affirming and Collective Value
- January 26: Intergenerational and Black Families and Black Villages
- January 27: Black Women and Unapologetically Black
Thank you for agreeing to take part in this important week. We'd love you to join us in any way you can - whether you want to use these themes for your daily warm-ups, organize a community event at your school, or get involved in city-wide organizing. Please complete the form, and check below with your level of commitment.
