Non Linear Dynamics & Scientific Writing

The winter school will be held at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Senegal (04 - 08 Feb 2019). Lectures from the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) will guide the learning process. The school also wishes to promote a cultural exchange between German and African students.

The school is divided into two parts.
• In the first part, three main fields of application (one per day) will be considered: climate (day 1), biogeochemistry (day 2), and ecology (day 3).
• The second part (day 4 and 5) will focus on scientific writing and will cover the major aspects of the writing process, including the aims of a scientific article, the standard formats, the crafts involved in writing, and the elements of a good writing style. Several additional aspects will be presented and discussed, including the review process.
