ORAA membership is open to all friends and families of the aviation community. Our membership has grown significantly over the past two years. With the generous financial support of our membership and with strong legal representation we have been able to put a temporary ground stop on the illegal takings of hangars at Ogden airport. Our Board is made up of a 100% volunteer team who continue to contribute countless hours working with our legal team, the FAA, State government, the media, our airport stakeholders, and our Ogden City adversaries in an effort to:
- Recover over $24M in assessed hangar values taken by Ogden City from our hangar owners
- Prevent the takings of hangars for no compensation (reversion)
- Reverse the ordinance passed by Ogden City stating the City can change any lease, at any time, for any reason which is a blatant violation of contract law.
- Prevent Ogden City from turning the airport into a City run enterprise and driving out private business. A municipality should facilitate viable businesses, not displace or steal them. Ogden City leadership doesn't understand that a federally funded airport is part of the transportation infrastructure and is not intended to be a municipal ATM machine.
ORAA continues to do fund raising because of the exorbitant cost to fight Ogden City. The Ogden City attorney has told us to our faces, he can outspend ORAA in any legal battle which is correct but doesn't discourage us from fighting this arrogance and our rights. However, with the continued support of our aviation community, with the strength of our legal case and the progress shown to date, we are confident we will achieve the goals listed above.
