The 2019 Survey of Paleoartists
Welcome to the second biennial Survey of Paleoartists! You are encouraged to participate in this survey if you have ever created artwork of any media in an attempt to portray extinct life or environments with fidelity to contemporary scientific knowledge. In other words - if you are a paleoartist!

Whether you're paid to do it or it is your hobby, your input is invaluable. No matter your aesthetic choices - whether your goal is to achieve photorealism or you employ some degree of abstraction and stylization - you are welcome to participate. Our goal is to come to a better understanding of how paleoartists practice their craft: how they research their work, what they charge their clients, how they work towards scientific rigor and avoid repeating errors in existing work.

This survey is completely anonymous, in order to give you the confidence to share information about your practice. This survey mostly consists of multiple choice questions, with a few short answer questions. It should only take a few minutes to complete, longer if you choose to share your thoughts in the long answer questions at the end of the survey. In the interest of collecting a robust data set, most questions are required to complete the survey.
