Help homeless youth access housing and health care.
Here is the Scenario--- With some limited exceptions, only persons age 18 and over can consent to enter a shelter or housing program or to obtain routine medical and dental care. However, many minors do not have parental support or care and are not in the physical custody of a parent or legal guardian. As a result, they are unable to access safe shelter or medical care. This puts youths’ lives at risk. It creates a serious health and safety hazard for unaccompanied youth, particularly those experiencing homelessness.

But here is some good news----

Senator Tom Apodaca has introduced a bi partisan bill into the North Carolina Senate to start to fix this problem.
And We Need You!! By signing this Petition, you could help many of our homeless youth locally and state wide, by breaking those barriers.
