The Southwest Coalition for Life is a leading pro-life non-profit organization with a mission of empowering YOU to help moms be heroes by choosing LIFE for their babies, and helping God end the violence of abortion across the Borderland region of West Texas and Southern New Mexico, peacefully and prayerfully. The Coalition aims to achieve this mission through  three areas of focus which are (1) OUTREACH, through our innovative “Her Care Connection” program including this paid internship opportunity working alongside our new "Save the Storks" Medical Ultrasound Bus, (2) ACTION, through compassionate community prayer vigils including 40 Days for Life campaigns twice yearly, and (3) EDUCATION, including pro-active youth presentations and training for the broader pro-life community.

The Her Care Connection Internship is a unique and exciting opportunity for pro-life individuals seeking to gain real-world experience, explore and discern opportunities, form and grow personally, and be a part of the real and practical solution to building a local Culture of Life. Working as Sidewalk Referral Agents, interns will gain on-the-street experience helping connect women and couples facing unexpected pregnancies to the life-affirming care she needs to choose life! The intern will also have the opportunity cultivate networking skills with community resources across the borderland region, including various Pregnancy Help Centers in El Paso and Las Cruces.

This paid internship a personally enriching opportunity for all, and is designed to offer excellent resume experience for UTEP, EPCC, and NMSU students seeking further education or careers in fields such as counseling, human services, psychology, behavioral sciences, marketing, family development, health professions, research, philosophy, theology, religious studies, and more!

1. To effectively and compassionately empower the maximum number of abortion-vulnerable moms and couples to choose life by connecting them to free life-affirming care, to reduce and ultimately eliminate the local demand for abortion-providers.

2. To form and equip interns with the knowledge, training, mentors, and experience to become well-rounded, effective, and professional pro-life leaders.

3. To facilitate the growth and expansion of effective pro-life outreach and mission work toward building a Culture of Life.

All interns will be expected to attend regular trainings and meetings after acceptance into the program.

After training, each intern will be assigned 6 to 20 hours per week of active outreach outside a local abortion facility, or more, depending on their availability. Hourly wages for interns start at $8 per hour.

In addition to sidewalk outreach, intern may have opportunities to help with other Coalition for Life activities, including but not limited to events, fundraising, phone calls, mailings, emails, graphic design, presentations, or other office related tasks.

Every effort will be made to accommodate  current school and personal schedules; however, this internship does require daytime work throughout the week and the scheduling of the hours will be at times when abortion facilities are open.
