--- Clubhouse Mentor/Member Relationships: Clubhouse Mentors are encouraged to take a personal and professional interest in Clubhouse Members with whom they work. However, to protect Mentors as well as Members, the following policies apply:

- Clubhouse Mentors are trusted guides/friends, positive role models, good listeners and caring, responsible adults, NOT substitutes for a parent/guardian, social worker or psychologist. Clubhouse Mentors should recognize situations where a Clubhouse Member needs support beyond what they personally feel qualified to provide; in those situations, Mentors should inform the Mentor Coordinator and/or Clubhouse staff immediately so the Clubhouse Member can be assisted in obtaining the resources s/he/they needs.

- Clubhouse Mentors should recognize the examples they set— attitudes as well as actions—may well influence the lives of the Clubhouse Members. Activities they organize for Clubhouse Members should reflect this and should promote multicultural understanding and appreciation for diversity—economic, racial, ethnic, sexual, religious, gender, etc.)

- Fieldtrips: Mentors are often invited to chaperone fieldtrips. When doing so Members may ride in the Gold Crown van or drive their own vehicles. Members are never permitted in a Mentors personal vehicle.
--- Dismissals: The following constitute immediate grounds for dismissal as a Mentor to the Clubhouse. Once dismissed, a Mentor will be ineligible to re-apply for any position at the Gold Crown Foundation whether on a paid or voluntary basis.

- Any act of violence or threats of violence against another person or their property.
- Drug or alcohol use or display while volunteering.
- Indecorous sexual behavior at the Clubhouse (including sexual advances, inappropriate materials, inappropriate
displays of affection, etc.)
- Two or more absences from scheduled mentor sessions without notifying the Clubhouse Mentor Coordinator.
- Mentors who meet independently with Members outside of the Clubhouse or Clubhouse activities will be asked to terminate their mentoring commitment.
