Checks and Declarations
Alma Primary is committed to safeguarding and protecting children. We expect all volunteers to share this commitment. For this reason we expect any volunteer to complete a DBS check before beginning a role in our school. We also ask anyone interested in governance to let us know about any potential conflicts of interest as well as any personal business interests, in addition to completing our declaration that you are a fit and proper person.
I confirm that I will complete fit and proper person declaration.

CRIMINAL RECORDS
Any position offered is conditional upon the School receiving an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) which the School considers to be satisfactory. If you are successful in your application, you will be required to complete a DBS Application Form. Any information disclosed will be handled in accordance with the Code of Practice published by the Disclosure and Barring Service (a copy of which is available from the School on request). The School is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and therefore all convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would normally be considered "spent" under the Act) must be declared. If you have a criminal record this will not automatically debar you from volunteering. Instead, each case will be assessed fairly by reference to the School's objective assessment procedure (a copy of which is available from the School on request). Failure to declare a conviction, caution or bind-over may disqualify you from appointment, or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light. Please tick any of the statements which apply: we will ask you to provide further details, in confidence, for any that you tick.
