There are three 1 hour long session types available at TIES 2018. Please select the type of workshop from the choices below:
Caucus: A time for groups or people working on similar projects to gather and exchange ideas, network, and discuss a specific topic.
Panel : A collection of persons gathered to conduct a discussion with a moderator that must include a question and answer segment for attendees to participate in order to garner a more in-depth conversation.
Workshop : Prepared presentations or trainings with stated and specific learning objectives. Workshops are teaching/learning sessions in which attendees gain important information about a specific topic.
What is the suggested title of your session?
Please provide a (short) description of your session.
What topic area(s) does your proposal fall under?
Advocacy: anything from everyday self-advocacy to legislative advocacy for transgender rights.
Age-Specific Support: This is intended for younger and/or elder trans/GNC/GQ people
Anti-Violence: Healing trauma transgender people may experience.
Basic Needs: Sharing transgender-affirming information and resources on affordable housing and healthcare, shelters, food pantries, employment, benefits, clothing, etc.
Coming Out: Assistance with coming out as trans/GNC/GQ and all it encompasses.
History: I want to teach about the history of trans/GNC/GQ people around the world.
Intergenerational: I am interested in bridging the age gap differences within the transgender commnunity.
Know your Rights: I want to share policies and laws that exist to protect transgender people and ways to file complaints against discrimination
Racial Justice: Honoring someone's race, ethnicity, and culture is just as important as honoring their gender. I want to contribute to TIES by sharing anti-racist framework and strategy.
