Hi, everyone!
Thank you for your interest in applying to become a potential mentee within the Mentoring in Economics program! We would like to help you with the best we can.
The Mentoring in Economics (M.E.) program is part of the UCSB Economics diversity and inclusion effort to better support traditionally underrepresented students (e.g. disabled/differently-abled, low-income, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or first-generation college students, etc.) in the Economics department.
Please note however that you do not have to come from a non-traditional background to become a mentee. The long-term goals of this program are to lay the foundation for more diverse voices and role models in economics careers as well as to create an inviting community within the Economics Department.
Upon selection, you will be paired with mentors from the Economics major and invited to events throughout the quarter that provide academic, professional, and social support. You can expect long-term relationships with both mentors and other mentees. We will be making a concerted effort to pair you with people that we think you will be able to click with!
Please fill out this form to the best of your ability. For any questions or concerns, please contact the Mentoring in Economics Advisory Board:
