2017 Lunar New Year Celebration Photo Contest
In 2017, Borough President Melinda Katz will celebrate Lunar New Year with Queens residents. The celebration will call high school students and the general public to submit pictures taken by cameras and smartphones with a theme of “what does Lunar New Year mean in Queens?”

It can be your personal experience in the Lunar New Year, such as a Lunar New Year Parade, a traditional Lunar New Year meal, or even decorations you see throughout your neighborhood.

1. A picture can only be entered once. Pictures submitted more than once will be removed from the contest.
2. The photographer must be the author of the picture submitted in his/her name.
3. All pictures must have accurate captions. Please use a sentence to interpret your picture.
4. Please bear in mind that Lunar New Year and Queens are two key words in our Photo Contest.
5. Pictures must not show the name of the photographer, agency, or publication, or any other information (these details can be included in the metadata of the pictures but must not be visible on the picture itself).

High school students and the general public must issue a completed submission form and a picture on February 15, 2017 at 5 PM. Best Picture recipients will be notified by February 21, 2017.

Photo Contest Awards will be presented by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz at her 2017 Lunar New Year Celebration at Helen Marshall Culture Center at Queens Borough Hall on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 6 PM. The address is 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens, NY 11424.
